Water pollution in the port of Offenbach – police use helicopters over the Main

According to the police, it was a substance containing mineral oil. The Frankfurt water police used a police squadron helicopter to take a closer look at the pollution in the Offenbach port. Police and fire brigade officers checked pleasure boats at the jetty and vehicles at the port entrance in order to obtain clues as to the origin of the substance on the Main. However, they found nothing.

The Offenbach fire brigade decided against taking measures to remove the pollution. The reason for this was that the substance was already severely frayed in the evening. Apparently she had been in the water for a while. This was confirmed by witnesses who had already noticed pollution in the area of the port entrance on Monday afternoon. The police have initiated criminal proceedings and are now looking for evidence from witnesses. Anyone who has noticed something should call 069-943459-0. (vbu)

Just recently, the water police had to rescue three people from the weir pillar of the lock in Offenbach. The group now expect criminal consequences.
