According to a study, Offenbach is at the top nationwide when it comes to filling top positions in municipal companies in larger cities with female managers. The proportion of women in the management level there is unchanged at 42.1 percent, according to an evaluation of 69 larger cities by the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen. Nationwide, the proportion of female managers in municipal companies in these cities rose by 0.9 percentage points to 21.5 percent in the March/April period under review compared to the same period last year.

Friedrichshafen – The state capital Wiesbaden (31.8 percent) and Darmstadt (24.2 percent) also performed above average. In Frankfurt (15.1 percent) and Kassel (10.8 percent), on the other hand, according to the study, female managers were underrepresented.

Nationwide, 1,429 municipal companies in 69 larger cities, including the state capitals, were analyzed, in which the public sector has the majority. Accordingly, 449 of the 2089 positions on the board, management or management were occupied by women.

No female managers in municipal companies were found in Osnabrück, Ingolstadt, Trier, Neunkirchen and Völklingen. In Neunkirchen, Trier and Völklingen, however, there are only comparatively few municipal companies that could be taken into account according to the study’s methodology, it said. dpa
