The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports 1658 new positive tests for the state after 1338 last Wednesday. 49 Covid-19 victims are officially added after 40 a week ago. The new positive tests and the deaths each make up about eight percent of the corresponding values in the federal government. They correspond to the Hessian share of the total population. In the past, Hessen was often disproportionately represented in the case of new infections and fatalities. Since the pandemic began, 1,578 of the 99,566 confirmed cases have been fatal. For comparison: as of October 1, there were only a good 19,000 infections and 551 deaths in connection with the pandemic. This shows the dynamics of the pandemic since late autumn. According to the RKI, 25,600 cases are considered active, i.e. not passed.
In view of this, Prime Minister Volker Bouffier set the new line in corona policy on Tuesday. From Friday onwards, there is a night curfew and an all-day alcohol ban in hotspots. Already at the weekend he thought out loud about possible exit restrictions at hotspots with more than 200 cases confirmed within a week and under 100,000 inhabitants and confirmed this on Monday.
