(Estimated reading time: 1 – 2 minutes)
The latest single from the French DJ duo Ofenbach was released on January 8th. The two got support from the new Act Lagique. The collaboration resulted in “Wasted Love”, a relaxed dance pop single with slap house accents. As always, you can find out from us what the production, which was released via Warner Music, can really do. In addition, you will of course find the appropriate link to listen in after the article.
Radio suitable dance number with slap house accents
But first of all we want to introduce you to the two artists. Ofenbach should have become a household name for every EDM fan in recent years. With their unique sound design, the “Be Mine” producers have built a community of 12.5 million people on Spotify alone in recent years. Most recently they mixed up the music world with their danceable version of the children’s song “Head Shoulders Knees & Toes”. The track has now generated 138 million streams on Spotify. Feature artist Lagique takes his first steps with the number under this artist name and could possibly even start right away with the number.
Musically, “Wasted Love” is reminiscent of tracks by artists like MEDUZA when you first listen to it. Atmosphere, sound design and melody go in a similar direction. Accents of the duo are definitely recognizable. The pleasant male vocals are accompanied by an instrumental determined by drums. Especially in the chorus, which is equipped with vocals that support the melody, the drums come to the fore. There is no real drop, but the instrumental clearly has slap house accents. There the focus clearly deviates from the vocals and instead the attention is skilfully directed to the catchy melody. The piece ends with a short outro after just 2:20 minutes.
Conclusion: With “Wasted Love” the guys from Offenbach delivered a potential radio and streaming hit. Musically, the track goes in the direction of the style of the producer trio MEDUZA. We are definitely convinced of the track, but you’d better get your own picture, so please listen to it. We hope that the duo will continue to release such varied music in the future and are already looking forward to the following releases by the two producers in 2021.
