of the modification of public transport of 1 November

On 13 September the elected representatives of the community of municipalities of Briançonnais (CCB) voted for the public service concession agreement for the operation of public transport in the territory, until August 2029. This was signed with Resalp Serre Chevalier Bus. A choice that follows the acquisition of mobility skills by the BCC with the desire to unify the transport offer in all 13 municipalities under its control.

A change described by the city councilor for transport, Pierre Leroy, as “a real small revolution for mobility in Briançonnais”. “Previously there were 13 different transport operators for 13 municipalities, there will be only one, the president of the CCB Arnaud Murgia added in a statement this Friday 21 October. If we want to encourage people to take the bus, it was a prerequisite to offer them a simple and cheap system ”.

Amlets served next May

This new transport network, called Altigo, will start on Tuesday 1st November. “In terms of the transport offer, there will be no major changes that day,” warns Nicolas Busca, boss of Resalp. The new concessionaire will mainly integrate the existing network – Transport urbain du Briançonnais, TUB – in the municipality of Briançon. “And some buses will start running on biofuels,” he adds.

The big changes will take place from next May. First of all on the Briançon urban network. “Until 1 May we maintain the three existing bus lines in Briançon. Therefore, there will be a revision of these lines, keeping the current services, but adding that of the hamlets and surroundings of Briançonnais “, says Nicolas Busca. The hamlets of Fontchristianne, in Briançon, and those of Clos du Vas and Pont lame, in Puy -Saint-André, they will now have a bus.

The means will also change: no more large cars, space for minibuses. “With large bus reinforcements during peak hours or days. “

On 1 September 2023, the Briançon urban network will also be extended to Saint-Chaffrey.

Resumption of school transport and tourist shuttles

On this date Altigo will integrate the current network managed by the Paca Region in the other municipalities of the CCB: that of school transport and tourist shuttles. With news already announced: the extension of the line from Val Guisane to La Grave during the tourist season; extension of the “skibus” until 1 am during the school holidays in February; and a departure of the Haute Clarée shuttle from the Champs de Mars to Briançon instead of Névache.

“One of the main challenges will be the Guisane axis, one of the busiest, especially in high season: we will have to maintain or even increase the transport offer”, notes Nicolas Busca.

Finally, the other aspect of the development will lie in the ticketing tools. “They are still under development and will be implemented gradually. “
