Of the 250 Covid-19 infections detected last day, almost half or 112 have been registered in Riga, according to data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).
In total, the 14-day cumulative number of cases in the capital has reached 804 people.
Meanwhile, 17 new patients have been registered in Daugavpils, where the total number of patients in the last two weeks is now 149 people.
Ten new infections have been registered in both Jēkabpils and Liepāja. In Jēkabpils, the total cumulative number of illnesses in 14 days has reached 47 people, but in Liepāja – 24 people.
Nine new patients were registered in Valmiera, in the last two weeks the number of patients increased to 14 people, but seven – in Mārupe municipality, the number of patients reached 24 people.
Last infected last day also registered in Jurmala, Jelgava, Rezekne, Kuldiga, Kraslava, Vecpiebalga, Olaine, Salaspils, Aizpute, Talsi, Kekava, Dundaga, Daugavpils, Stopiņi, Carnikava, Smiltene, Aglona, Kocēni, Roja, Limbaži Madona, Inčukalns, Salacgriva, Dagda, Rūjiena, Līgatne, Pārgauja, Salas and Kārsava districts.
Covid-19 returned to Pāvilosta, Dagda and Krustpils counties, where all the patients had previously recovered.
The largest number of patients in the last two weeks is currently in Riga – 804, in Daugavpils – 149, in Vecpiebalga region – 96, and in Kraslava region – 76 inhabitants.
Of the new infections, 47 are between 20 and 29 years old, 42 are between 50 and 59 years old, and 41 are between 30 and 39 years old. Other age groups have a lower number of cases.
It has already been reported that 250 cases of Covid-19 were detected last day, the highest number of infections detected in a single day to date, according to SPKC data.
A Covid-19-infected person aged 55 to 60 also died last day.
Since the appearance of Covid-19 in Latvia, infection has been laboratory confirmed in 4208 persons, but recovery has been confirmed in 1357 persons.
According to the National Health Service, 17 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized and eight were discharged during the last day, bringing the total to 113 inpatients, of whom 103 were moderately ill and ten were severely ill. .
