Students from the economic, educational and paramedical fields registered with the Haute Ecole Francisco Ferrer (HEFF) in Brussels gathered this Sunday at 3 p.m. in front of their establishment, on Place Anneessens. They denounce “the conditions under which their assessments were carried out” as well as “the authoritarian behavior of teachers and management“. Economics students had gathered a week ago for the same reasons.
Students say that for several exams, the terms were communicated too late or changed a few days before. The duration of several evaluations in different categories would also have been reduced the day before they took place.
Distance education also went badly, protesters say: “In several courses, the subject was not given, although an examination did take place. Several teachers were unreachable, but persisted in setting up exams that were impossible to pass.“
Students also denounce difficult passage conditions and an untenable schedule, with several exams per day for several consecutive days. Access to the corrected copies would also have been canceled in certain cases, “which is illegal“.
“In addition, in the curricula of the educational category and the biomedical section, practical work, laboratories, and internships were assessed at the head of the client.“, they underline again, demanding in particular that the administrative grade (10/20) be awarded to all students who fail.
Sunday, those who consider themselves seriously injured will be gathered in front of their establishment, supported by the Student Union, from 3 p.m. to challenge the authorities of the HEFF and the Minister of Higher Education, Valérie Glatigny.
