In order to sell their stocks, farmers are distributing free potatoes and milk this Wednesday and Thursday to students weakened by the health crisis.
New solidarity operation with regard to students in this period of health crisis. This Wednesday from 11 am at Place Rihour, farmers are distributing foodstuffs to students free of charge. With this initiative, the farmers of the Coordination Rurale du Nord (CR 59) are joining the initiative of the La Chicorée restaurant, which has been distributing meals at 1 euro for a few days.
“We have decided to distribute part of our production free of charge to benefit the students”, details on BFM Lille Carlos Descamps, president of the Rural Coordination of 59.
1.5 tonnes of potatoes and 200 cartons of milk
The president of the Rural Coordination specified that each student would have the right to a 5 kg bag of potatoes and a 1 L of milk. With these donations, he hopes that beneficiaries will “feast”. Distribution will continue this Thursday at 11 a.m.
