ÖEHV extends with team boss Bader

The Austrian Ice Hockey Association (ÖEHV) continues to rely on the men’s team boss and sports director Roger Bader. The contract of the Swiss, who has been in office since October 2016, was extended ahead of schedule until June 30, 2022. In addition to participating in the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, the return to the top division of the World Championship is also the big goal next year.

“Roger Bader has been doing an excellent job within the ÖEHV for several years. He is very professional, which you can currently see in his daily work in the training camps. With this contract extension, we are relying on continuity and are also pursuing major goals, ”said Association President Klaus Hartmann in a broadcast on Friday.

The coming season will be a big challenge for the team. “We are already working hard to be able to cope with the upcoming tasks successfully,” said the Swiss.

The national team is currently playing its first test matches since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. On Saturday (6.40 p.m., live on ORF Sport + and in the livestream) the Austrians will be guesting in Jindrichuv Hradec and will meet the Czech Republic again. On Thursday there was a 5-0 defeat against the five-time world champion in Vienna.
