Now online on Spotify and Apple Podcast – Episode 1 with Prof. Dr. Jochem Marotzke
Vienna (OTS) – oecolution austria is now launching its own climate podcast entitled “œco? Logical!”. In the new podcast, oecolution Managing Director Elisabeth Zehetner talks to personalities from society, science and practice about the most pressing issues relating to climate change and discusses the latest developments and advances in this area with them. “There are many climate podcasts, but with our podcast we want to bring together what belongs together for a good future – economy and ecology,” says Zehetner. The first talks are now open Spotify and Apple Podcast retrievable, subsequently the discussions will be published on a monthly basis.
Episode 1 with Prof. Dr. Jochem Marotzke, climate researcher and IPCC report lead author
The synthesis report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was published just last week. oecolution austria was able to win a top-class guest for the first episode. Prof. Dr. Jochem Marotzke is one of the most renowned German climate researchers and one of the lead authors of the 6th IPCC assessment report. “Can the 1.5 degree Celsius mark of the Paris Agreement still be reached? What role do the repeatedly mentioned tipping points play? Are we heading for a catastrophe at 100 km/h or is there reason for hope? We discussed these and many other topics with Prof. Dr. Jochem Marotzke,” says Zehetner.

The interlocutors of the upcoming episodes are Dr. Heinz Faßmann, President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and former Minister for Education, Science and Research, on the area of tension between science and politics, Dr. Bettina Fuhrmann, Head of the Institute for Business Education at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, on the question “How important are financial and business education for climate protection” and Dr. Berthold Lindner, founding partner of the law firm Lindner Stimmler Rechtsanwälte and expert in environmental and sustainability law, on the challenges of project implementation in the energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
