Odyssi announces new rolling blackouts in central cities

For a few days, water cuts have been effective in the territory of the cities of the center (Fort-de-France, Lamentin, Saint Joseph, Schoelcher). Reservoir supply difficulties are the cause of the cuts.

Despite some rains in recent days, they are insufficient to reverse the significant drop in water resources.

In April 2022, Martinique received only 50% of the usual rains for this time of year. There is therefore a significant water deficit in almost all the municipalities of the island.

On April 29, 2022, the prefecture issued a drought decree.

The operator Odyssi announces that as long as the water level of the rivers is insufficient, the cuts will continue.

The organization asks users to be vigilant in using the resource.

In Fort-de-France, several neighborhoods are impacted by the cuts.
