Odong-Odong Train Collisions in Serang, 9 People Killed

Train crash move around who was carrying children at the crossing of Silebu Village, Kragilan District, Serang Regency, Banten. The fatal accident reportedly killed nine people.

“For the victims who died, I have received information from 9 members,” Serang Police Chief AKBP Yudha Satria told reporters, Tuesday (26/7).

Yudha explained that the unfortunate incident occurred at 11.15 WIB. Odong-odong who was passing at the railroad crossing did not hear that the train was approaching.

“Because the odong-odong was a convoy. There was a convoy of odong-odong in front of him, he followed. Well, the tail turned out to be hit by a train,” added Yudha.

Yudha also added that the location of the accident was a crossing without a gate. As of the time this news was published, 8 people were injured.

“Eight people were injured, it is still seen that they were lightly or seriously injured,” said Yudha.

Furthermore, Yudha also said that the position of the odong-odong was dragged by the train.

“The position of the odong-odong was not on the train tracks, it was indeed pushed to the side of the train tracks, yes it was dragged,” said Yudha.
