Bhubaneswar. New ministers were inducted in the Odisha cabinet on Monday. Governor Ganeshi Lal administered him the oath of office and secrecy at a function here at 10 am. Bhanjanagar MLA and Bikram Keshari Arukha, who resigned from the post of Assembly Speaker last week, Rourkela MLA Sharda Prasad Nayak and Bangiriposi MLA Sudam Marandi have been included in the cabinet.
The governor, who was on a personal tour of his home state Haryana, returned to Bhubaneswar on Sunday, a day before the swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony took place at around 10 am at the Convention Center of Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das and Labor Minister Shrikant Sahu had resigned last week. No one has been appointed in place of former health minister Naba Kishore Das, who was murdered in January.
Revenue Minister Pramila Malik was given additional charge of School and Mass Education and Labor Department. Earlier, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari was given additional charge of Health and Family Welfare Department.
