ALICANTE. The singer and producer from Alicante Pepe Bernabeassociated with fellow music producer Joaquín Martínez Deltellboth from the hand of the record label Record Creative Magnitude, have set out to turn the creative process with which an author shapes his record or other audiovisual products into an experience. It’s all about the project Odisey Music, where artists and technicians live together in a luxury villa in Ibiza to generate a creative bond that strengthens the artistic process during its creation. “A group of artists, a group of producers and an environment that stimulates creativity and generates a ‘camp effect’ with which to promote disconnection from routine”, they describe.
“It is not only thought for music, but for everything that has to do with art and entertainment, also linked to projects or events that can be developed in the villa itself”, explains Barnabas. This concept, exported from the United States and other countries around the world that are at the forefront of the music production sector, has become popular, but it had not yet landed in Spain. However, the man from Alicante began to devise it here a year ago, during the pandemic, when activity was reduced to minimum levels and he had to find safe environments. “We wanted to see how that concept worked and we tested it with sporadic projects,” he recalls.
From there, they studied implementing that idea permanently to facilitate the logistics of the study, so three months ago they were permanently installed. “It’s like a summer camp in a remote place where you only have to worry about creating and nothing else”, he points out. In this way, although the main part of the project is Ibiza, they have also been able to do it in Alicante or Madrid, but “it is on the island where a greater detoxification of the daily routine is really achieved”, activating the ‘disconnection mode’. “A ‘camp effect’ is created that unconsciously has a lot of positive impact on the flow of creativity.”, describe.
They work more and in a better way, as they say, but instead of being a conventional studio, you stay there to sleep and live for a few days. “The villa is incredible and has an unbeatable environment that not only serves to relax and enhance creativity, but also to record content to share on the social networks of these artists”, he highlights. These two producers and songwriters had the idea and developed it with the record label. It is a different concept from what has been seen so far and, according to what they say, their prices have not changed since they started in this sector.. Thus, the same amount that they charged their clients for producing a record in a conventional studio is what they charge now. “The villa is an extra that we provide,” she says.
Thus, it consists of two workspaces with separate studios for composing and creating both as a team and independently, but they also have all kinds of amenities for the artist, “so that it becomes a unique experience and is really comfortable”, describes Bernabé. For this purpose, they include diets with chef and do you have a room or suite private, swimming pool, pick-up service at the airport or train station, in addition to other amenities. With everything, whoever wishes can take advantage of this idyllic setting to record a promotional video performing one of their songs live. “We take care of the production of the video and also the live one”, she points out.
Meetings of influencers, study for tiktokers…
That is its added value. A place where not only music is worked on, but the environment allows for other activities and even events and concentrations of artists or influencers. Right now, in fact, they are preparing a camp on music production, another on film and one more on radio and television, which They are not only focused on the professional public, but also on other people who want to know the working method in these areas.. “There is a lot of ignorance because there is little information about the key points to be taken into account by a creator when launching his artistic product,” says the producer. “Us we want to address all of that and help independent artists manage their plans”, sentence.
That is why, in addition, they are also going to start scheduling talks with professionals from the creative world such as presidents and directors of record companies. “We did not expect it to be so good and we are studying creating other spaces such as a study for tiktokers with the intention that they can generate content for themselves or for any artist who is producing their project in the town”, states the ideologue of this project, which has just started and is already growing.
