Odin Waage (26) received a lot of attention for his roles in the NRK series «Rådebank» and the TV2 series «Julestjerna».
Now Waage becomes historic, as the youngest actor ever in the lead role as King Olav on the Stiklestad stage.
Despite his young age, Odin is a very experienced actor with many major roles to look back on in film and television. Here he has impressed with his ability to make complex role interpretations with a broad emotional register, says director Peer Perez Øian to Stiklestad.
– He has built a reputation as a serious and hard-working actor who is not afraid of a challenge, and I am convinced that he will add to Olav both the warrior’s rawness and the doubter’s psychological depth that makes the character so unique, he continues.
In the play, Waage will play against well-known actors such as Nils-Ole Oftebro, who plays Gamal-Jostein in the same play.
The play is part of the festival «Olsokdagene på Stiklestad», which marks the day Olav the Holy fell during the battle of Stiklestad in 1030.
