Odense Håndbold Dominates in EHF Champions League Match Against Sävehof: Review and Next Matches

In the last match before the World Cup break, a new match against Odense Håndbold in the EHF Champions League awaited. When the teams met in Partille last weekend, there was a lot of difference between the teams, similar numbers were also this time when the final score was 40-22.

From the start, Sävehof lined up in a 5-1 defense with Emma Mihailovic as center and in a completely different way than a week ago, the team was involved in the opening of this match. Last weekend, Odense led 4-0 after five minutes, now it was instead a 3-1 lead when we entered the fifth minute of play.

However, the Danish home team has shown that it can go away when they get it right and that would be the case this afternoon as well. Ten minutes into the match they had the advantage with a ball and the numbers would grow significantly larger. At halftime the scoreboard showed that the score was 21–11 to Odense.

Nina Koppang scored Sävehof’s first goal in the second half. Then exactly ten minutes had been played. Two further reductions quickly followed, but with a clear margin, Odense would finally secure two new points in the Champions League when the match ended 40–22.

Champions League play is back again on January 6th. An away match against Györ is then on the program. Before that, there is a home match against Kristianstad on December 26th, but first of all there is a break due to the world championship, which starts at the end of this month.
