24 years after the release of the original play of the cult series (Oddworld: Abe´s Oddysee from 1997), today we see a significantly “reworked” second part of the intended five-part saga. According to the creators, the original second part, Oddworld: Abbe´s Exodus, did not allow them to fully realize their vision due to limited budget and time, so the Soulstorm released today is a kind of “soft remake” of the two and follows directly on the legendary number one (which we could also repeat). in an upgraded version thanks to the remake of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty!).

Ugh, it may be a bit of a complicated story, but the main thing is that we have a new portion of bouncing, riddles and cuteness. According to the authors, it is possible to play it all without losing a single partner, but for similarly demanding completionists, the game can allegedly take up to 100 hours. According to John Linneman from Digital Foundry, we can look forward to very imaginative and technically ambitious gameplay with rich use of simulated physics.
Working on a video for Oddworld Soulstorm today and am very impressed thus far. The series always manages to surprise me. Pretty ambitious gameplay elements – lots of physics and ‘elements’ in play.

Soulstorm is available today on PlayStation and PC (Epic Games Store) platforms. Owners of a PS5 and a PS Plus subscription can download the game at no additional charge. The rest will cost 1319 CZK.
