The VR gladiator game Gorn is not exactly squeamish. Even if the VR game comes in a colorful comic look, we still lovingly call it “Fruit Ninja with human heads”. It usually only takes a few seconds for parts of the arena or parts of the arena to turn bloody red.
To the fans, the recently released Oculus Quest Port by Gorn was obviously but not red enough. In fact: Compared to the PC version, there is felt to be a little less splatter, the severed body parts and battered bodies also disappear again relatively quickly. And then there’s this detail that sparked discussion on Reddit: no blood on the guns. That is not possible!
Fortunately, the 24 bit games responsible for the port reacted very quickly. In addition to the criticism of the lack of blood, it was also criticized that this was a quest port that would not take into account the current features of Quest 2 – although there are now many more Oculus Quest 2 players. So 24 Bit Games also delivered here. With the latest update there is blood on weapons and of course the new main feature of Quest 2: buttery smooth 90Hz playback.
The developers on Twitter:
