Octogenarian killed in multi-car collision southeast of TLV

A woman was killed Saturday in a collision between several cars in central Israel that left several injured.

The 80-year-old woman was seriously injured in the crash on Route 444 southeast of Tel Aviv and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Rescuers said four other people were injured: a 43-year-old woman, moderately injured; two girls aged 7 and 8, slightly injured; and a 17-year-old girl, injured, whose condition was not specified by the Magen David Adom emergency service.

All were taken to Sheba Hospital in Ramat Gan for treatment.

Police said they were investigating the cause of the accident, which involved three vehicles.
