MUNICH. State Parliament President Ilse Aigner (CSU), Vice Presidents Tobias Reiß (CSU), Alexander Hold (FREIE WÄHLER) and Markus Rinderspacher (SPD) as well as the Presidium members Martina Gießübel (CSU) and Andreas Jäckel (CSU) have the Parliament Speaker of the Indian state of Karnataka, UT Khader Fareed, and his parliamentary colleagues received in the Bavarian state parliament. There has been a partnership between the state of Karnataka and Bavaria since 2007.
Entry in the Book of Honor of the Bavarian State Parliament in the Stone Hall: UT Khader Fareed, as Speaker of the Parliament of the Indian state of Karnataka, is happy to accept this sign of appreciation for his visit to the Bavarian State Parliament.
At the subsequent working lunch, the focus was on the exchange between the members of the Executive Board and the delegation from the Karnataka Parliament. Although Karnataka is a state, the population is comparable to that of Germany. More than 11 million people live in the capital Bangalore alone. In particular, German-Indian relations were discussed, not least because of the state’s partnership with Bavaria, which has existed since 2007. A particular focus of the conversation was on political education, where the Bavarian State Parliament is leading the way with numerous projects for children and young people.
In the morning, the delegation had already visited the Committee for Local Affairs, Internal Security and Sport and was particularly informed about security for women, population disaster management and sport.
