October 2023: Global Forecast of Solar and Lunar Eclipses by Tgk Ismail

Tgk Ismail continued, in October 2023, globally there will be 2 eclipses, 1 solar eclipse and 1 lunar eclipse.

Report by Saiful Bahri I Lhokseumawe

SERAMBINEWS.COM, LHOKSEUMAWE – An eclipse is an event where light from a source is blocked by another object, such as being blocked by the sun’s light by the moon which causes a solar eclipse and being blocked by the sun’s light by the earth which causes a lunar eclipse.

A solar eclipse occurs during the new moon phase (new moon)while a lunar eclipse occurs during the full moon phase (full moon).

However, not every new moon will have a solar eclipse and not every full moon will have a lunar eclipse.

This is because the plane of the moon’s orbit around the earth is not parallel to the plane of the earth’s orbit around the sun.

However, the moon’s orbital plane is tilted at an angle of about 5 degrees.

“If the plane of the moon’s orbit were the same as the plane of the earth’s orbit, then we can be sure that every new moon there will be a solar eclipse and every full moon there will be a lunar eclipse,” said Head of the Department of Astrology, Faculty of Sharia, IAIN Lhokseumawe, Dr Tgk Ismail SSy MA, Wednesday (4 /10/2023).

Tgk Ismail continued, in October 2023, globally there will be 2 eclipses, 1 solar eclipse and 1 lunar eclipse.

The details:

1. Annular solar eclipse, 15 October 2023 AD, 29 Rabiul Awal 1445 AH.

There are four types of solar eclipses, the first is a total solar eclipse, where when the peak of the eclipse occurs, the entire disk of the sun is covered by the disk of the moon so that the sun looks black and emits beautiful corona light.

The second is a partial eclipse, where when the peak of the eclipse occurs only part of the sun’s disk is covered by the moon’s disk.

The three annular eclipses are named rings because when the peak of the eclipse occurs, the moon’s disk only covers the middle of the sun’s disk, so that the sun appears to be shining only on the edge of the circle which is shaped like a ring and in the middle position the sun is black.
