October 12 and three racial politicians
The vision of this date according to Hipólito Yrigoyen, Arturo Frondizi and Juan Domingo Perón.
On October 12, 1492, 532 years ago, a brilliant Spanish navigator sighted the first piece of American land, revealing to the eyes of old Europe the wonders of a New World. The former president Cristina Kirchnerannounced that through a project the name would be changed to this date, specifying that “this racist holiday will no longer be called” Columbus Day and would be called “Day of Respect for Cultural Diversity.” Truly unfortunate decision, since by renaming this date we would be disregarding history, which with so much blood and sacrifice constituted the inalienable pillars of our nationality.
Many militants of the National Movement, today still dispersed and tired of seeing even the most recent history distorted, firmly support October 12, as “Columbus Day”, instituted by the former president Yrigoyenreaffirmed by Frondizi and ratified by Peronin the words of the latter, “our future is rooted in the past.”
The Decree of the two-time president Hipólito Yrigoyen, of October 4, 1917, exhaustively and wisely recognizes the roots of our Argentine identity, when he declares a National Holiday on October 12, saying: “The discovery of America is the most transcendental event that has ever occurred. humanity throughout the ages, since all subsequent renewals derive from this amazing event, which at the same time expanded the limits of the earth, opened unsuspected horizons to the spirit”… “That the discovering and conquering Spain overturned the enigmatic continent the magnificent courage of its warriors, the ardor of its explorers, the faith of its priests, the preceptism of its wise men, the work of its artisans, and it poured out its virtues on the immense heritage that makes up the American nation…
In a memorable speech, Lieutenant General Juan Domingo Peron At the Argentine Academy of Letters, on October 12, 1947, he ratified our nationality, expressing among other irrefutable concepts: …“For us, race is not a biological concept. For us it is something purely spiritual. It constitutes a sum of imponderables that makes us what we are and drives us to be what we should be, due to our origin and our destiny… “For us, race constitutes our personal seal, indefinable and unmistakable. For us Latinos, race is a style. A lifestyle that teaches us to know how to live practicing good and to know how to die with dignity.”… “Because Spain contributed to the West the most valuable of contributions: the discovery and colonization of a new world won for the cause of culture. western. Your company had the sign of an authentic mission…”. The posthumous mandate of Queen Elizabeth to “attract the people of the Indies and convert them to the service of God” came to be fulfilled and a beautiful reality…
General Perón summarized the soul of our Nation rooted in our history by emphasizing: “They are men and women of that race who in heroic communion rejected, in 1806, the invading foreigner, and the chief nobleman who obtained the victory threatened with “penalty.” of life to those who insult them.” “The people who in May 1810 assumed the newborn revolution are a segment of that trunk; That blood is what triumphs gloriously in Tucumán and Salta and falls with honor in Vilcapugio and Ayohuma; It is what animates the hearts of the Montoneros; It is the one that seethes in the rebellious and indomitable spirit of the leaders; It is what ignites the men who in 1816 proclaim our political independence to the face of the world; It is the one that runs agitatedly through the veins of that race of titans that cross the rough and desolate mountains of the Andes, led by a hero in a march that has the majesty of a Greek frieze; It is the one that orders the men who forged the National Unity, and the one that encourages those who organized the Republic; …; of that race is that people, this people of ours, blood of our blood and flesh of our flesh, heroic and self-sacrificing people, virtuous and dignified, haughty without boasting and full of intuitive wisdom…”.
The reading of these notable historical documents, from two authentic race politicians, comforts the spirit of the militants of the National Movement, making it clear that we are from the same lineage, the people before independence, and those after it, it is the same one that will later support the future National Unity. Let us hope that on this day, the current tenants of the Casa Rosada assimilate what another great president, Dr. Arturo Frondizi, summarized: .. “that we Argentines are, at the same time, protagonists and heirs of history, of all history, without mutilations and without repairs…”
