news-item-description">Ronald Paradeiser defeated veteran Ivan Buchinger in a Slovak battle of the generations and won the lightweight title of the Octagon. See the statements of the new champion, promoter Ondřej Novotný or the first Slovak in the UFC, Ľudovít Klein.

It was about health, Buchinger was stopped by the coaches

Twenty-six-year-old Ronald Paradeiser faced an 11-year-old legend already in January 2021. That time, he did not make it past the middle of the 1st round, the title fight was knocked out after being strangled with the rear naked choke technique.

This time, Paradeiser started symbolically on the track Ain’t Gonna Die Tonight. He was determined to prove that he had matured as both a warrior and a person in the three years since his first showdown with Buchinger.

From the start, he pushed and sniped at the slower veteran. Already in the opening minute, he shook Buchinger and hunted for a knockout blow. The former champion staggered around the cage, leaning against the mesh. The referee was waiting for the right moment to end the duel.

However, Buchinger started tying up his opponent and got the worst of it. He gradually returned to the match, but continued to collect. At the beginning of the 2nd round, he was already spitting blood, his upper lip was torn. A minute before the end of the round, he received a knockdown, backed away shaken and fell to the mesh. He survived the end, but in addition to his torn lip, he also had a deep laceration under his left eye and a smaller one above his eyebrow.

Promoter and commentator Ondřej Novotný speculated during the break that they wanted to end the duel in Buchinger’s corner. The fight finally continued and so did Paradeiser’s pressure. The charged ex-champion tried tirelessly for the winning blow with his elbows from the turn, but the younger challenger hit more accurately and harder.

After another one-sided round, the debate was repeated in Buchinger’s corner, and this time the result was the end of the duel. The native of Gabčíkov wanted to continue, but the coaches stopped him. One of them, Attila Végh, showed him the extent of the injury on his mobile phone to explain the decision to wave off the end. According to Novotný, his lip was torn up to his nose.

Paradeiser: Thanks to Buchinger, we have plenty to eat

Paradeiser won the coveted title at the third attempt. At the beginning of the post-match speech, he paid tribute to his opponent: “Thank you very much Buchinger. He sowed the land here, thanks to which we young people can toil and eat. There is a great champion in my heart. Thank you for what he did for this scene.”

“After 80 seconds I thought it was over. I listened to the horn that I shouldn’t burn it because Ivan is crazy. It is not by chance that he is the best Slovak. I didn’t rush anywhere and got the title,” Paradeiser continued.

Before him, Mateusz Legierski, Buchinger and Losene Keita won the lightweight title. Neither could defend him. And not even Paradeiser will succeed in the near future, because next year he will be part of the Tipsport Gamechanger pyramid for a million euros (more HERE).

After the victory, Kratos started after Vémol

He grew up in a favela, he wants the title of the Octagon. Brazilian Rafael Xavier (13-7) knocked out Englishman Dan Vinni (24-18) and asked for a chance for the belt. After the win, he jumped the cage, headed to reigning light heavyweight champion Karlos Vémol (36-7) and they exchanged a few messages. The Brazilian did not specify the content of the fiery debate.

Xavier is number three in the light heavyweight division. In addition to Vémol, he also has the German Stephan Pütz and the Slovak Pavel Langer above him. However, the already confirmed title challenger of Vémol is Attila Végh, before that, on December 29, he will compete against Samuel “Pirát” Krištofič (16-6).

news-item-description">The match of the century was and still is the biggest MMA event on the Czech-Slovak scene. The revenge is going to be even more spectacular!

Rafael “Kratos” Xavier is 6-1 in the Octagon. Sensationally, only Langer beat him after the inconsistent verdict of the point judges, thus depriving him of the opportunity to challenge Vémola. Langer wasted his chance in October, Vémola knocked him out after 7 seconds!

Keita won the title, the opponent was carried out on a stretcher

Belgian super talent Losene Keita (12-1) broke his leg in July. He returned after 133 days and won the vacant featherweight title. He caught Niko Samsonidse (10-3) with a right hammer after 23 seconds of the 2nd round, finishing the opponent with strikes on the ground. Referee Jan Voborník could have intervened earlier, the German was carried out of the cage on a stretcher and ended up with a broken jaw.

After Buchinger and Georgian Mat Sanikidze, Keita became the third champion in the category up to 66 kg. He suffered the only loss in his career in July against Sanikidze, when he broke his leg after 68 seconds. He has a record of 6-1 in the Octagon.

Last June, against Buchinger, he also won the lightweight title, but lost it due to inactivity. Immediately after the victory over Samsonids, he challenged the new king of the division, Ronald Paradeiser.

The triumphant return of the Czech jewel

His dream of the UFC vanished, he lost in Dana White’s Contender Series last year after only 47 seconds. Due to injuries, he lost the expected match with Slovak rival Vlast Čep (12-2) twice this year. Czech gem Matěj Peňáz (8-1) got his taste at least with an express victory after a one-year break.

He knocked out Norwegian Ole Magnora (8-8) after only 29 seconds and will most likely jump from 6th place in the middleweight rankings. He wants to fight again in January at the Octagon 52 tournament in Newcastle, England.
