OCTAGON 27: The Frenchman was beyond his power, Boráros fell for the third time in a row

BRATISLAVA. The winner of the first Oktagon challenge, Gábor Boráros (18-9-1 MMA), welcomed veteran of several foreign organizations Mickael Lebout (20-11 MMA) in the Ondrej Nepel hall.

Boráros entered the duel in an unenviable situation, when he did not meet the agreed weight limit of 79 kilograms on Friday’s pre-match weighing.

Career restart?

Despite being one of the first stars produced by Oktagon, Boráros is not doing very well today. Since May 2018, it has been with his performances as a substitute, while he is currently on the negative wave of two losses in a row.

The question, which was regularly raised in connection with the well-known Slovak fighter, was so clear – did he manage to sufficiently prepare for an important duel?

There were voices from the Borárosa camp about improved access to training, which was confirmed by his head coach Ilja Škondrič.

He has strength, he has a good psyche, he has explosiveness. He really has everything a warrior needs.

He just has to train more because he’s a slacker. He likes dumbbells more than sacks and gloves, so we have to grab his ears and pull him into the gym, that’s all,“Revealed the head coach of OFA Bratislava and added that last month Gábor was a role model in training for others.

Originally, Boráros was supposed to meet the Pole Michal Labus at the Oktagon 27 tournament, but he was replaced by a more demanding opponent after an injury, when UFC veteran Mickael Lebout accepted the fight at the last minute.

As for the Frenchman, he last appeared at the UAE Warriors tournament in January, where he lost to Bruno Machad for points after five rounds.

Eight of Lebout’s twenty winnings came on a submission, which could also foreshadow his match tactics.

The course of the match

1. round

We hear the famous “yawn, yawn”, which the spectators in the hall try to encourage to fight a domestic fighter. Gábor sends a few kicks in quick succession on Lebout’s front leg.

The Frenchman is still cautious, aware of Gábor’s strength in the first round.

Lebout exactly hits Boráros in a counterattack, who prefers to go to safety.

Yes !! A hard straight from the back of the hand, Boráros suddenly finds himself on the ground. Lebout trying to get to a better position, end of the first round.

Round 2

The coach echoed Gábor during the break to try to lengthen and combine strike combinations.

Lebout adds hard underpants to the body, Gábor remains on the defensive.

With every minute, the Frenchman takes the reins of the match into his own hands and neutralizes all Boráros’ initiative.

After the blow of the opponent, Gábor’s wound opened above his right eye, blood begins to pour down his face. Lebout works on Boráros’s face as a painter on his work, he doesn’t go anywhere and patiently waits for the chance to hit.

Round 3

The spectators try to motivate Boráros to the last five minutes, knowing that he must win before the limit to win the match.

In the defense, Gábor leaves space for Lebout to decide where to send another punch or kick.

Nothing interesting has happened in the remaining moments, we will see point tickets.

The result: Mickael Lebout clearly wins the judges’ point verdict!

Winner’s words: Before this fight, I was already thinking about the end of my career, but I took it and I would like to wrestle something else in the octagon.

Lost words: “You may not like them, but I do. I’m glad I can fight between you here, “Boráros said in a post-match interview and asked for his girlfriend’s hand right in the octagon.
