Hungarian Grand Prix winner Esteban Ocon and runner-up Sebastian Vettel are under investigation after the race.
Carlos Sainz, who finished fourth, and two retired pilots also face investigations by the commissioners.
Esteban Ocon, who scored his first Formula 1 victory in the Hungarian race, is being accused of not following the race director’s instructions on post-race procedures. The Alpine driver stopped his car outside the location indicated by the category, after the checkered flag.
The other four drivers, including Valtteri Bottas and Lance Stroll, are under investigation for violations of pre-race procedures, including ‘WeRaceAsOne’ observance, and the podium ceremony.
These regulations state that riders must “attend the national anthem performance wearing their racing attire”. Images from the ceremony show that Vettel did not do this throughout the ceremony and was wearing a T-shirt showing his support for LGBTQ+ rights during the Hungarian national anthem.
Ahead of the race weekend, Vettel and other riders protested Hungary’s new legislation banning the display of gays in television programs or educational material aimed at under-18s.
Vettel suggested that after the race the T-shirt was the reason for his call-up. “They might disqualify me,” he told Sky. “They can do whatever they want. I would do it again,” he added.
