In view of the improvement in sea conditions on the entire Gironde coast, the baïnes alert has been lifted for this Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 August. But the Prefecture of Gironde calls for you to remain vigilant if you go swimming. Because the ocean will remain locally agitated on this evening of August 14 and this day of August 15.

Among the main safety tips when swimming:

– keep an eye on your children

– take your physical form into account

– stay alert when going swimming

– call 112, in case of emergency

The Girondin coast has been the scene, in the last 24 hours, of two fatal accidents. Sunday August 13, in the evening, on the beach of Lacanau, a 51-year-old woman died, drowned, while trying to rescue her two children carried away by a baïne. Monday August 14, in the early morning, a 54-year-old man was found drowned on the central beach of Soulac-sur-Mer.
