Occupational Morbidity Rates in Russia Show Steady Decline Except in Healthcare and Social Services Sector

In the group of diseases “caused by the influence of biological factors”, the first place is occupied by diseases caused by coronavirus – they account for 91.44%. In second place is tuberculosis (6.14%), in third place is brucellosis (0.97%). In 2022, one case of an occupational disease caused by HIV infection was also registered (0.16%).

The main reasons for the development of acute occupational diseases were contact with an infectious agent (91.25%), other causes (5.14%) and imperfection of personal protective equipment (2.28%).

The Social Insurance Fund sent almost 24 billion rubles to healthcare workers affected by COVID-19 in 2022. 382 hospital employees died from coronavirus infection, another 68 became disabled, MV reported.
