Occitanie: towards a new episode of heat wave next week?

The hot weather will be back this weekend, and very hot weather could follow at the start of the week.

The rain has brought some freshness, but temperatures will rise this weekend in France. 30°C will be reached or even exceeded in Occitania, Saturday and Sunday, as in Millau (Aveyron), Montpellier (Hérault), Nîmes (Gard), Carcassonne (Aude) or even in Castres (Tarn) according to weather forecasts France.

The thermometer will continue to heat at the beginning of the week towards what could become a new episode of heat wave (if the phenomenon lasts over time) but which will be at least a period of high heat.

Maybe up to 39°C next week… until when?

Languedoc weather forecasts are betting on very high temperatures from Sunday in a southern part of the country. We could oscillate between 33°C and 37°C everywhere in Occitania, when a peak of almost 40°C could be reached between Gard and Bouches-du-Rhône. “The absolute record for Nîmes in July is only 38.8°C. It has a good chance of falling,” notes Météo Languedoc.

It should be very hot in the south, from Sunday July 3rd.

It’s hard to say if the hot weather will stay there for several days, like during the heat wave last June. For the moment, Météo Languedoc forecasts maximums of 39°C at least until Thursday July 7 in Occitania, “a scenario to be confirmed but which is becoming more and more probable”.

Aveyron in temperate mode from this Thursday, June 30

Aveyron will have a rather temperate climate compared to its neighbors, from this Thursday, June 30, with often cloudy and rainy weather at night and falling temperatures (between 14 and 22° C during the day). The department will experience a start next week of the same ilk, with temperatures of 23 to 30 ° C on Monday but stormy showers expected from the West to Carladez. On Tuesday, these stormy showers will reach the north and the center and temperatures will drop by 4° C on average throughout the department.
