Occitanie: the map of cultural and sporting events canceled or postponed this summer

After the announcements of Emmanuel Macron to cancel the events scheduled until mid-July because of the coronavirus, and those of Edouard Philippe, Tuesday, April 28, to ban all gatherings beyond 5,000 people, Noon Libre takes stock of the cultural and sporting events in the Occitania region which are canceled, postponed, uncertain and maintained. Our map will be updated regularly according to the announcements of the organizers.

Since the announcement on April 13 by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron that “major festivals and events with a large audience” could not be held before mid-July “at least”, cancellations and postponements have followed . Others are still pending.

No gathering beyond 5,000 people until the end of August

Tuesday, April 28, announcements of the main lines of the deconfinement plan unveiled by the Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, confirmed that all gatherings of more than 5,000 people are prohibited until August 31 inclusive for the time being.

From the Radio France Festival via the Electrobeach, the Carcassonne festival or the Natural Games, Midi Libre takes stock via an interactive map (this list is not exhaustive) that our editorial staff will update regularly. Do not hesitate to report other events to us by writing to [email protected]

Festival Worldwide – The decision fell very early on from Gilles Peterson, creator and organizer of the Worldwide Festival (July 3-11). As the meeting of electronic music (but not only) attracts, in Sète, many foreigners (and in particular English who are in time difference as regards the pandemic compared to France), the health risk (and financial) was far too big to take. The festival is therefore postponed to 2021 (from July 2 to 10)

Carcassonne Festival – And if Carcassonne had done well not to announce too soon the cancellation of the entire 2020 edition of its Festival ? If the program, until July 14 included, was deleted very quickly after the last intervention of Emmanuel Macron, the cultural pole and the mayor of Carcassonne have made their position wait until now. And the intervention this Tuesday, April 28 at the National Assembly of Edouard Philippe did not end the wait.
