If there were two of the best western RPG game developers on the market today, two names would likely immediately come to the fore. First, of course, Larian Studios, which just released Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2023 and immediately won so many prestigious awards. Second? Obsidian Entertainment. With products like Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity enough to prove their worth, it’s no surprise that many gamers are looking forward to their next product. An RPG game entitled AVOWED.
After being teased through teasers that weren’t very clear, Microsoft and Obsidian finally officially introduced AVOWED in more detail via the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 event this morning. Feeling like a “light version of Skyrim”, this presentation focuses on the flexibility of the action RPG system that it offers, where you have the opportunity to dual-wield weapons to combine various existing effects. The strength of the story is also still used by Obsidian as a focus, where it is claimed, it will carry many stories with gray morals that require you to choose your own response and deal with the existing consequences.
AVOWED is planned for release in fall 2024.
What’s more interesting? Obsidian and Microsoft plan to release AVOWED in the fall of 2024 for Xbox Series and PC, unfortunately, there is no exact date yet.
