The “janitor” of the Tesla Cybertruck prototypes at one time caused a stir on the network – the detail looked huge and ridiculously out of place. Users wondered if such a solution would take root. New shots demonstrate his work, so there is less doubt.
A drone video shows the huge Cybertruck windshield wiper in action. It looks functional and may have been improved since the previous demo, but it looks no less odd. And it still leaves a large area of glass in front of the passenger seat uncleaned.
Brad Sloan filmed the Cybertruck yesterday outside the Tesla plant in Texas, where the car was being aerodynamically tested. At around 13:42 you can see the movement of a giant “janitor”.
The giant windshield of the Cybertruck is one of the distinguishing features of the electric pickup truck. Keeping it clean is an extraordinary technical challenge; the very first prototypes had no cleaning system at all.
“The wiper is what worries me the most,” Musk said in response to comments about the size of the part. – There is no easy solution. A retractable wiper that stows in the front of the trunk would be ideal, but complicated.”
Still, it is not yet known for sure whether this is the final version of the wiper. Production of the Tesla Cybertruck should begin this summer, and the pickup truck will be released in 2024 – there is not much time left. Recall that Tesla has a great futuristic solution for this case:
