A “big demo” on Saturday (May 8th) in Düsseldorf has been advertised on social networks for days. According to the flyer, the organizer was the group “Active against police violence”. On closer inspection, the suspicion of a connection to the lateral thinker scene is close. The promised support of the group “Veterans for Law and Freedom”, in which former Bundeswehr and NVA members have come together according to their own statements, is questionable. They announce that they want to stand between the police and demonstrators, allegedly to protect the people – the sovereign. But only around 30 participants came to the announced demo. Since the police apparently did not know about the appointment, the “small demo” marched with loudspeakers, flags, without distance and masks from the main station towards the state parliament shortly after 11 am.
