KENZINGEN
Naughty offspring
In bright sunshine, the council of fools from Schonach recently visited the Oberrheinisches Narrenmuseum in Kenzingen. The jesters’ guild has added two new children’s figurines of the geiennackerer and a geienmaid to its exhibition corner. Chief guild master Johannes Kienzler handed the figures over to Gudrun Reiner, chairman of the sponsors’ association, and vice master, Theo Schindler. In doing so, he fulfilled a long-cherished wish, as it is one of the special features of the Black Forest guild that children wear wooden masks at a very early age. This means that the wooden mask can be shown at eye level to the visitors, and especially to children, and their fears can be dispelled. The children’s figures are also a great addition to the large children’s corner, where they can play with carnival paraphernalia and dress up. Children will also find utensils from Schonach and many other fools’ guilds there. The fool’s show shows the diversity of the Upper Rhine Fasent.
The Oberrheinische Narrenschau is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment. Tel. 07644/900113.
ENDING
Baden master
Jana Stertz from TV Endingen will remain undefeated in 2022 over the sprint distances. At the Baden Championships in the U16 age group on May 28 in Langensteinbach, she outdid the competition over 100 meters. In the final she prevailed in 12.60 seconds and won the championship title in the W14 class.
FORCHHEIM
Donation for country children
Since it was founded in 2021, the Landkinder initiative, which is under the patronage of the Zwergenstble Endingen, has been able to implement many projects for children in Forchheim. The initiative has now received EUR 500 each from the Volksbank Freiburg and the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau for their work. The money will be used to buy material for the toddler group for children under and over the age of one, said Melanie Schneider and Caroline Lsch, who run the initiative. In addition, new toys are to be bought for the existing toy boxes on the two Forchheim playgrounds. The initiative wants to create friendships between children and parents with its actions.
