Observatory records meteor fall in RS sky; watch video | Rio Grande do Sul

According to the observatory, the “fireball” meteor passed through the clouds at 20:47 in the South region of the Capital. Despite the cloudy sky, it is possible to see its glow (check above), which became extinct at 40 km altitude over Porto Alegre. The passage lasted three seconds.

It is not yet possible to identify which celestial body the fragment belonged to, and it may be part of an asteroid or comet still unknown.
