Obituary: Mary Kerrigan, Barrister, Journalist, and Political Adviser

Mary Kerrigan, a prominent barrister, journalist, and political adviser, has passed away in Dublin after an illness. She began her career in journalism, spending 15 years with the Irish Press titles before becoming the Fianna Fáil press director under the leadership of then Taoiseach Albert Reynolds. Later, she practiced as a barrister, was a member of the Brussels cabinet of EU commissioner Charlie McCreevy, and worked at the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg. She was also involved in the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland and co-directed the Beauty at Blue Door beauty salon business. Tánaiste Micheál Martin paid tribute to Mary, noting her love for politics and journalism and her infectious personality. Mary passed away at Blackrock Hospice, surrounded by her family. Her career and contribution to Irish politics and journalism will be sorely missed.
