Today in his home in Tsarevo died the former mayor of our southernmost municipality Stoyan Yovnov.
His death was announced by close friends of the family, who witnessed the last days of love in the past and now a local public figure.
Yovnov died after nearly 10 days of fighting with Kovid-19. His friends suggest that the consequences of the infection were fatal to his life.
He died of complications literally a week before he turned 74.
Stoyan Yovnov was mayor of Tsarevo municipality for a term of 1995-1999. After winning the local elections in 1999 by Petko Arnaudov, Yovnov took over the post of Secretary of the Municipality until 2010.
“We express our sincere condolences to the Yovnov family on the occasion of the huge loss of our fellow citizen, public figure and close friend Stoyan Yovnov,” Yagoda and Petko Arnaudovi wrote to Flagman.bg.
The legendary longtime mayor of the BSP in Tsarevo, Petko Arnaudov, is currently battling the severe virus. He is being treated at home.
