Obituary Hoax: Judge Stanislav Sedefchev Declared Dead While He’s Alive and Well

An obituary of a living and healthy judge was plastered in several places around the building of the Criminal Division of the Sofia District Court on “Gen. M. D. Skobelev” Blvd., magistrates warned. It is about the judge Stanislav Sedefchev, as the obituary clearly has his last name written as “Serefchev”, it was reported “Lex”.

The Sofia District Court announced that Judge Stanislav Sedefchev is in good health and the sessions of his panel continue as scheduled. “The messages about his death, pasted around the building of the Criminal Division of the SRS are untrue, for which the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office has been referred,” the SRS further specifies. The obituary said the judge died after a long mental illness. “You were a protector and friend of the gypsies from “Hristo Botev”, “The Faculty”, “Zacharna Fabrika” and “Filipovtsi”. He only gave us suspended sentences or acquitted us. You watched over us and taught us. You loved us and d*** gave… We will never forget you – you and your d***! Rest in peace!” reads the text, and the signature is “From the bereaved”.

This is not the first case in which the disgusting practice of obituary of a living lawyer has been used.

During his lifetime, an obituary of Kamen Sitnilski was pasted on the building of the Supreme Judicial Council. There was a similar case with lawyer Iren Savova.

In 2019, Mihail Stefanov from Stara Zagora was detained, who scratched and tried to tear an obituary of a deceased investigator, pasted on the building of the closed Specialized Criminal Court.
