Obituary: Dr Zéphyrin Dakuyo was taken to his final resting place

The plant lover is gone forever. Doctor Zéphyrin Dakuyo was buried on Monday October 23, 2023 on his farm in Koutoura, in the commune of Niangoloko.

Died on October 15, Doctor Zéphyrin Dakuyo was taken to his final resting place in Koutoura in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr Robert Kargougou. Speaking at his farm in Koutoura, the workers of the Phytofla pharmacy, the order of pharmacists and the Cascades regional health directorate, all claimed to have lost a man whose notoriety goes beyond the sub-region.

There was no shortage of testimonies on this occasion. For the regional director in charge of the Cascades environment, Hassime Rabo, “Dr Zephyrin Dakuyo was an exceptional environmental forester. It leaves a big gap in the field of medicine and the environment. He is someone who knew how to work with plants. He was the Thomas Sankara of plants.”

Same story with the former Minister of Sports, Issouf Sirima. “I remember the illustrious deceased as a man serving the population. A man who gave all of humanity his know-how. A man with an open heart. He has since the time of Thomas Sankara, he died on October 15, so he was a Thomas Sankara for the country,” he said.
