We learn of the death of Dr. Jean Schuler, who passed away on July 22 at the age of 75. Born on January 27, 1947 in L’Hôpital, the deceased had married Nicole, born Hoffert in 1972, and was the father of two sons, Fabien and Emmanuel, current first magistrate of L’Hôpital. He had two grandchildren, Axel and Arthur. Mayor of L’Hôpital from June 1983 to March 2001, Jean Schuler was departmental councilor for Moselle from 2007 to 2015 and Vice-President of the Region twice between 1992 and 2004. He was also Deputy André Berthold for 20 years. . A doctor by profession, he began his career as a mining doctor in the early 1970s at the Houillères du bassin de Lorraine (HBL) and was particularly involved in sports medicine. Very involved in the associative world, and in the social field, Jean Schuler was also president of the football club of L’Hôpital. He had been retired since 2012 and ended his career at Bérus hospital (Saar).
