Passers-by and neighbors who live in the vicinity of Obispo Larraín Street, Manuel Rodríguez sector of Rancagua, denounce the proliferation of rodents and bad odors given off by the large amount of garbage that is deposited in the middle of the public street, by unscrupulous people who have to the task of contaminating part of this population.
One of those affected by this uncomfortable situation is Mr. Luis López Forastes, who expressed his discomfort at what the residents of the aforementioned sector have to experience daily, since people have dedicated themselves to the task of throwing waste and all kinds of garbage on the sidewalks of the street, parallel to Route 5 South, between Alameda and República avenues.
Another problem that the elderly must suffer, especially, are thefts from residences and pedestrians, coupled with the sale of drugs and prostitution in the surroundings of this populous town in the regional capital.
“There are people who steal from inside houses and since they are elderly, they do not file complaints,” said Mr. Luis López, who has been renting a property for more than 15 years.
The distraught father also expressed that “now they are going to throw away everything, even trucks come from all over to throw garbage.”
Not satisfied with that, there is a house that was taken, where its inhabitants keep the people who pass through the sector in anxiety, especially the elderly, who are the most vulnerable to robberies and assaults, the neighbor denounces. .
López Forastes indicated that they have filed a complaint with the municipality, but they ignore their problems, and when they send trucks to collect the garbage, the next day the same emptying of garbage is repeated in the sector.
