Jakarta –
Uterine cancer is a disease that women are quite susceptible to, from productive to unproductive age. The cause of this cancer is due to genetic mutations in the cells in the uterus.
However, some doctors believe that one of the triggers for uterine cancer is overweight or obesity. So, is this true? Read this article to the end to find out the answer.
Obesity is a trigger for uterine cancer
Obesity turns out to be one of the trigger factors for uterine cancer, Mother. This was conveyed by Dr. Joseph. Sp.OG on his personal TikTok account @dryusufspog, please note that HaiBunda already has permission from Dr. Yusuf for sharing this information.
“Fat can trigger cancer, obesity triggers an increase in estrogen levels in the blood. “Estrogen levels increase the risk of uterine cancer, an increased body mass index will increase the risk of uterine cancer by 88 percent,” wrote Dr. Joseph.
In the video, Dr. Yusuf was seen educating a patient who was diagnosed with uterine cancer at the age of 28. He explained to the patient that her weight reaching 97 kg was one of the triggers for uterine cancer.

“Obesity has caused two things that have the biggest impact on your life. “The first is not having children or having difficulty getting pregnant after years of trying and the second is the uterus, the uterine wall cells experience changes due to excessive estrogen hormones,” added Dr. Joseph.
The impact of obesity experienced by women can actually affect fertility levels and the health of the uterus, Mother. This is because obesity can cause the estrogen hormone to increase excessively.
Excessive estrogen hormones apparently do not have a good impact on the health of the reproductive organs. Apart from increasing the risk of uterine cancer, high levels of the hormone progesterone can also cause other health problems such as thickening of the uterine wall and breast cancer.
So, what steps can you take to prevent and reduce the risk of uterine cancer? Read more fully on the next page, Mother.
