Obermeitingen: Credit needed: Day care center expansion in Obermeitingen costs millions

The municipality of Obermeitingen has to take out a loan for the interim financing of the conversion of the old school into a day-care center.

In its most recent meeting, the Obermeitinger municipal council dealt with the financing of the conversion and expansion of the old school into a day-care center and meeting place. “We cannot avoid taking out loans of almost two million euros in order to be able to pay the bills,” explained the treasurer of VG Igling, Otto Lichtblau, to the committee.

Looking ahead, this year’s budget foresees borrowing for investments of EUR 1.97 million that has not yet been utilised. It should be an interim financing for a maximum of five years until the building sites in the new building area South VI are sold. The council voted unanimously to take out the loan. The Obermeitinger municipal administration will determine the amount and the terms of the individual loans.
