Oberliga Krefeld Ravens is unstoppable

The Krefeld Ravens continue to plow through the Oberliga in American football. The promoted team swept the Aachen Vampires 62-0 off the field on Saturday afternoon at Sprödentalplatz.

(svs) Quarterback Jan Leuker and pass recipient Nicki Tenwinel provided the highlights with two spectacular touchdowns in the passing game. On the other hand, it was mainly the defense that delivered an impressive match. In the first quarter, the defenders made the preliminary decision when they conquered the ball and carried it into the end zone after three consecutive possessions by the guests. Kai-Patrick May, Dennis Storm and Ramon Franco ensured a 28-0 lead after an early touchdown by Glenn Holloway. But not only the big plays impressed. Once again, Defense Coordinator Flo Penz’s group allowed almost nothing. They only allowed 95 total yards – 30 on the run. For comparison: The offense around Leuker came to 442 yards (234 runs / 208 passes).

The Krefelders are still at the top of the table. The Ravens are asking for the next home game on June 4th against Remscheid Amboss. 14 days later the first top duel against the designated biggest competitor Wuppertal Greyhounds is coming up. In any case, the Ravens already seem well prepared for the duel.
