She discovered that the car smelled of alcohol and asked the driver to take a voluntary test. According to the police, the front tire of the van had burst while driving on Erdinger Allee, causing the driver to briefly lose control of the car and drive over the roundabout. But then the man made his way undeterred in the direction of Erding and drove to the airport bypass. The man said he wanted to change the tire in Erding, but that didn’t happen. The test showed a value above the legally permitted limit, which is why the 63-year-old was brought to the hospital to have his blood drawn. The man’s non-drunk co-drivers took care of the van, who now faces a driving ban and a fine.
