The former American president visited the castle of Laeken on Sunday afternoon. The program included an “informal visit” with the king, the Palace said. Princess Elisabeth was also present.
King Philippe and Barack Obama met several times in 2014. Then they saw each other three times in one week. First in Poland, on the occasion of the 25th elections there. Then there was the American president’s state visit to our country, and finally a visit to Normandy, where the seventieth anniversary of the Allied landings was commemorated.
Obama is expected in Puurs on Sunday to speak at the Antwerp technology festival FTI SuperNova. The former president will kick off a two-day technology event in the Studio 100 pop-up theater that will take place later this week in the Waagnatie in Antwerp. The event is actually a combination of a conference with well-known speakers from organizations such as Tesla, NASA and Apple and a technology fair with demonstrations. Obama is scheduled to participate in a moderated discussion about the world’s challenges and his vision for the future.
