But there are two factors that sharpen these violations a students: Being a woman and the health crisis caused by a pandemic.

The female students interns of medicine They denounced that both institutions require them not get pregnant nor enter the social service and, consequently, to say of a doctor interviewed by The Broken Chair, they make them sign a responsive letter where the University disclaims any risk they may run under this condition.
In the event that one reaches get pregnant, the institutions of Health they will not accept disabilities, nor can they resign, nor access the opportunity to have another cycle of social service. What, for feminist collectives, violates the rights sexual and reproductive of students, “because the freedom of choice is deprived on his body and his life”.
An environment of abuse sexual
Daniela, interviewed by the Broken Chair and who asked that her name be changed for fear of retaliation, is a student at the Faculty of Medicine from UABJO who just finished his social service at the expense of humiliations, an attempt to abuse sexual and weeks of bureaucracy and attacks by the authorities.
In September 2018, Daniela entered to perform her service in a community south of Oaxaca. Explain that during the period of social service the abuse sexual They are constant against the medical interns, both by the residents and by the doctors or interns themselves.
One night, while the young woman was studying in her assigned rest room inside the clinic, she was the victim of an attempt to abuse by the councilor of Health in the town.
My room was up to the back (of the clinic). There was no way for anyone to enter. Then there was a knock on the door of my rest room and it was the Alderman of Health who had skipped the fence. He was drunk and he told me to get out (…) he became very aggressive and wanted to grab me by force

After Daniela’s threat to call the villagers if she did not leave, the alderman took an ambulance and fled the place.
Immediately Daniela asked for her change of clinic, they made her wait weeks for her resolution, which was rejected by the authorities. Her relatives had to intervene to get her transferred to another place.
It also talks about vulnerability and systematic violence against women in these contexts.
There are places, he says, that are assigned only to men, who have been involved in cases of bullying sexual or even rape against women.
And he assures that machismo and the violation of rights reigns throughout the process of social service.
–In communities they also operate without any security. Have denounced bullying by the same people, who go to “medical check-ups” and when they are in the doctor’s office begin to masturbate in front of them, says Daniela.
In addition, he talks that in the Committee of Health They were pure men and if she or a nurse or doctor asked for a favor they were attacked, even physically.
Bureaucracy “Misógina”
Daniela denounced the attacks she received before the Coordinator of Social service from Faculty of Medicine, who sent her to the director of the Social service from the University, Emilio Osorio Cruz; however, he has failed to have his service released.
They have not wanted to release my social service although I already have the records of the jurisdiction and the State Health institutions

In reference to Emilio Osorio, the student points out that he is a “misogynist”, because when one goes to deliver their documents, they prefer to receive them to men and not women. “It tells you that the documents are false and breaks them,” she says.
And although the Secretary of Health has assured you that you already meet the requirements for break free the service, the director Emilio Osorio continues denying him his right.
He is always in charge of making life impossible for students. Instead of supporting students, he never supports us

He social service in full pandemic
The pandemic has represented a risk to all personnel in Health which is on the front line against covid-19. However, the students interns of medicine they do their social service they are the most vulnerable and those who work without any security and without protection supplies.
In the complaint made by female students and students against the authorities of the Secretary of HealthLike the University, they explain that they are almost forced to sign a responsive letter that exonerates these institutions from any risk or situation derived from the covid-19 pandemic.
In defense, the director of the Faculty of Medicine from UABJOLuis Manuel Sánchez Navarro said in an interview for El Universal Oaxaca, that said requirements come from the Superior General Directorate of Higher Education (DGSES), which is the body that issues guidelines for the use of clinical fields (places) at the national level and for all institutions.
But the conditions go beyond that.
Daniela, who has been in that situation, assures that in clinics and hospitals there are no conditions to work in the social service.
Without mentioning the clinic where she was for fear of being identified, she says that “in the Health where I was there was no medicine, no instruments; to the interns, in truth, one lives long what is the bullying sexual“, said.
Aware that the social service It is carried out in support of communities that lack services, ensures that there is no condition to work, much less, security for them.
There are communities where they have nothing, there are precariousness, there is neither childbirth nor security

“I had to put my bag to fill the oxygen tank. The municipality does not support you, not even for the cleaning of the Health“.
The medical interns are assigned different positions where the “financial support” ranges from 300 pesos to 2,100 pesos per month.
The collective Feminists Oaxaca, in their position as activists defending the human rights, made “a timely call to the institutions in charge of watching over the human rights, to take action and take the necessary measures to protect and guarantee said rights of the female students and the students ready to social service as interns and doctors. “
And they pointed out that “the rights of the providers of social service from Faculty of Medicine from UABJO they are established, so they cannot be required, in any way, to sign anything that implies their resignation.
