Buy tickets for the long-awaited tour that marks the Oasis reunion after 15 years of absence from the music scene it is turning out to be a real odyssey. And even the fans who succeeded in the feat are now safe. Live Nation he made it known that they are beyond 50 thousand tickets already purchased that are at risk of be canceled and put back on sale. This means that if many people see the ticket slipping away from under their noses, many others will be able to have a shred of hope again.
Live Nation confirms that the tickets withdrawn will be 4% of those sold, as they are invalid due to the violation of contractual terms and conditions. To understand why, let’s take a step back.
On the eve of August 31st, the day of the opening of the official sale, only a few lucky ones had managed to get their hands on one limited presale which could only be accessed via a code. And most of these tickets were already on sale, at exorbitant prices, on the platforms of secondary ticketing. The situation worsened the following day, when ten million fans of the Gallagher brothers’ band patiently lined up TicketMaster to begin a slow ordeal made of endless files, bugs and flaws in the system. There are those who, after hours and hours of waiting, found themselves empty-handed, but there are also those who managed to get to the long-awaited purchase page. Once we arrive here, here’s the bitter surprise: waiting for the fans is the dynamic price. With this trick the cost of tickets increases as demand grows. And there couldn’t have been more demand than that. Given the prohibitive prices, many have flocked to the platforms secondary ticketing which were already full of tickets and given the exceptional nature of the concert, the phenomenon of touting reached levels never seen before: 100 pound notes cost over 22 thousand pounds.
The message, also launched by the English band’s social media, which warned: “be careful, tickets can be resold exclusively to the nominal price (purchase) only on the official platform”. Now TicketMaster and SeeTicket are back to keeping their promise: so invalid tickets will return to the market. So, in the coming weeks, watch out for TicketMaster: there may be some surprises.
