The Gallagher brothers, who have avoided performing together for years, have announced 14 concerts, including four at Wembley Stadium in London and four at Heaton Park in Manchester. There will also be stops along the way in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin. Tickets go on sale on 31st August at 9am UK time.
Speculation about the band’s reunion surfaced on Sunday, when the two brothers posted a cryptic clip on their X (formerly Twitter) accounts with the date “27/08/24”. The band’s official website also displayed this date, suggesting that an Oasis announcement would be made on Tuesday.
Liam Gallagher fueled the rumors by answering a number of questions and comments from fans on X. When one user criticized the choice of Manchester’s Heaton Park as the venue for the concert, Liam responded in his usual style : “You can see down the face of your big fanny .” On Sunday morning, he also posted the entry: “I have never liked this word FORMER.”
Oasis formally disbanded in 2009 after Noel Gallagher left the band. In June this year, Liam Gallagher went on tour to celebrate 30 years since Oasis’ debut album, “Definitely Maybe”, was re-released at the beginning of the year.
