Oasis announces comeback!

What no one ever thought possible finally happens in 2025: brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher bury the hatchet and finally perform again as Oasis. The band’s heyday was mainly in the nineties, when it was as inextricably linked to the zeitgeist as Flippos and a bag of chips, but its musical legacy has remained infectious and fresh throughout the years. Albums like Definitely Maybe in (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? inspired a whole generation and are still selling well today. In addition to these classics, the arrogance and constant bickering of the Gallaghers also went down in history. Their bickering regularly brought the group to the brink of collapse, until in 2009 Oasis literally fell apart after the release of Dig Out Your SoulThat album was promoted at Rock Werchter, but then the brothers split and years of online mudslinging began, which the British tabloids enjoyed.

Despite the implosion of Oasis, the Gallaghers remained actively in the forefront. Liam was the first to continue with his new band Beady Eye, which only lasted until 2014 due to mixed success. Noel, however, took his time and formed Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in 2011, with which he released four albums. The most recent album, Council Skiescame out last year. While Noel only played a handful of Oasis songs during his shows, Liam got his revenge. From 2017 onwards he went solo and gave the audience what they wanted: hits. As You Were, Why Me? Why Not. in C’MON YOU KNOW were always a good excuse to tour the world and to revisit the old Oasis hits. This made the discography of the Britpop band increasingly legendary, further enhanced by re-issues and live albums such as the Knebworth performance. The book and documentary Supersonic only continued to fuel the hype. After years of speculation, the latest signs of a possible reunion emerged at the recent Reading & Leeds Festival, where Liam Gallagher performed the song “Half the World Away” dedicated to his brother Noel. This would have been unthinkable fifteen years ago. When both brothers and the official Oasis account sent out a statement with ’27-08-24′ last Sunday, fans’ hopes only grew stronger.

After the cryptic messages of the past few days, there is finally clarity: Oasis are hitting the road again and have already announced a famous series of concerts in the United Kingdom. They will kick off on July 4 and 5 at the Cardiff Principality Stadium, after which they will visit their hometown Manchester in the familiar Heaton Park, and that on July 11, 12, 19 and 20. A tour stop in London is also a must; on July 25 and 2 and on August 2 and 3 they will be at Wembley Stadium. Furthermore, two shows each in Edinburgh and Dublin are also planned. The rest of the world will have to wait a little longer to get Oasismania. General ticket sales for all shows start on Saturday August 30 at 9 am local time, we dare to bet our collection of Flippos that it will sell out very quickly.
