“O2 Phone Services Experience Outage, Affecting T-Mobile Customers Too”

According to the T-Mobile company, the problem was in the shared part of the O2 network and the consequences of the failure affected the entire country.

The operator’s customers started to complain about the unavailability of services around 6 p.m. “All SIM cards from O2 stopped working for me,” said Martin M. on the operator’s Facebook page.

At the same time, his complaint was not unique, dozens of other people expressed themselves similarly. People could not even call numbers registered under O2 from other operators.

At the same time, people from different corners of the country reported problems. O2 spokeswoman Veronika Zachariašová told Novinky.cz that the unavailability of services was felt by people across the whole of the Czech Republic, at least for a few minutes.

According to server Outages24, which monitors the availability of various services, people nevertheless began to complain about the unavailability of services even as early as 4:00 p.m. The server received hundreds of reports.

“At the moment, we are gradually putting the network into operation,” Zachariášová told Novinky shortly before 7 p.m.

What exactly caused the outage is unclear at this time. “Our technicians devote themselves to this with maximum priority,” Zachariašová responded.

“We apologize to all customers for the complications,” she added.

Some T-Mobil customers could also experience an outage on Tuesday. “We are very sorry, but right now we are dealing with a mobile service outage that affects both calls and mobile internet. Colleagues are working to make sure everything is back to normal soon. As soon as we have good news, we will let you know here,” said T-Mobil employees on Twitter shortly before 7 p.m.

At the same time, T-Mobile and O2 share some of their mobile networks in the country.

The outage of telephone services affected O2 already at the end of February. At that time, telephone services did not work, people across the country reported the inability to call – from Liberec, Prague, Opava, Ústí nad Labem, Třeboň and a number of other cities.
